-
Biomedical Research
-
Mechanical and electrical system installation to support upgrade of Cancer Research Laboratories.
-
Installation of (6) AHU's and all piping, electrical, and controls systems for building integration. Including installation of temporary AHU's to allow for minimized lab downtime.
-
2 Years
-
Installation of air handlers requiring complex rigging and scaffold work.
The challenge
Site conditions and unit locations required careful rigging and scaffold installation and work. Need to keep building occupied required careful phasing of work.
The solution
Excel's team successfully completed the project using pre-fabrication for complicated piping areas and unit connections, as well as using expert rigging experience to set equipment in complex locations. Excel's team worked with a scaffolding consultant to design scaffolding to ensure safe working areas and staging platforms for temporary unit placement.
The benefits
-
New AHUs enable energy efficient and lab requirement compliant HVAC system to facilitate new cancer research
-
Cancer research was able to begin on schedule, properly supported by reliable mechanical and electrical systems
